Nearly 200 million cubic meters of gas saved with Dutch invention for existing radiators
Two million radiator fans demonstrate the impact home energy savings can have worldwide.
Home heating experts, SpeedComfort, announces it has now sold more than two million radiator fans worldwide – a significant milestone for the Rotterdam-based company.
Collectively, these two million radiator fans have saved almost 200 million m³ (cubic metres) of gas, enough to meet the annual gas needs of around 235,000 typical UK homes based on Ofgem’s usage figures.
The milestone comes as energy prices soar across the UK. Alongside the recent energy price cap affecting households across the country, energy security due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East remains a significant concern. Recent research from SpeedComfort demonstrated that the top three home-related concerns for Brits were the cost of living, energy bills rising and energy costs.
Founded in 2015, SpeedComfort set out to answer a simple question – can heat from existing radiators be used more effectively without replacing the entire heating system?
The solution? The SpeedComfort radiator fan. It increases air circulation around a radiator or convector, allowing the heat to be distributed more evenly and quickly within a room.
Radiator fans can reduce energy consumption from heating by up to 22%, helping rooms reach the desired temperature twice as fast, despite allowing both the temperature of the thermostat and the central heating flow temperature to be lowered.
With SpeedComfort’s radiator fans being used across homes in 34 countries, lower energy bills for individual households ultimately lead to substantial gas savings and significantly lower CO₂ emissions.
Wouter Heuterman, CEO of SpeedComfort, says: “‘When making our homes more sustainable, we often look at major interventions. However, existing heating systems can offer many opportunities to save energy and money.
“Householders don’t have to make extensive renovations or add a new installation to make substantial savings. Even relatively simple adjustments can make a huge difference, especially when you add them together. Our combined saving of almost 200 million m³ of gas is a true reflection of just how significant that can be.”
