Collaboration with Eco-Groothandel: up to 22% gas savings in tens of thousands of households
Since 2019, SpeedComfort and Eco-Groothandel have been working together on energy savings in Dutch households. What began as a product relationship grew into a strong collaboration within municipal energy projects.

About Eco-Groothandel
Eco-Groothandel is part of a group of sustainable companies and webshops, including Energiebespaarshop, Ecologisch and Eco-Bouwers. They serve both business and private customers. The target audience ranges from energy coaches and municipalities to consumers who consciously choose sustainable alternatives and practical solutions to make their homes more sustainable.
“We make sustainability accessible to everyone. With practical advice and affordable solutions, we help the Netherlands become greener step by step; from energy savings to a circular lifestyle,” says Bart de Vries, director of Eco-Groothandel.
“Within that broad assortment, SpeedComfort has developed into an important product. Not only because of the energy savings, but also due to the combination of immediate comfort, ease of use, and reliability,” Bart de Vries continues.
Major impact through municipalities
In 2023 and 2024, the collaboration received a strong boost through municipal projects aimed at combating energy poverty. At the end of 2023, Eco-Groothandel won a tender in The Hague. In a short time, energy coach teams visited more than 10,000 households there.
During these home visits, residents received personal advice and energy-saving measures were applied immediately. SpeedComfort was placed under the radiator on the spot as a permanent part of the approach.
In tens of thousands of households, this led to gas savings of up to 22%. This not only provided more comfort in the home but also a clear reduction in energy consumption.
Initially, the Mono set was used. Later, the more efficient Duo set was chosen, with separate cables so that customization per home remained possible. Despite the higher purchase price, this solution was deliberately chosen because it delivers more energy savings and impact per household.

Practical approach in the neighborhood
Municipalities purchased the products from Eco-Groothandel, after which energy coaches went into the neighborhoods with a selection of energy-saving measures. For each household, it was assessed which solutions were immediately applicable and could structurally contribute to a lower energy bill.
SpeedComfort was placed under the radiator and immediately provided better heat distribution, lower gas consumption, and more comfort. Precisely that combination of quick installation, immediately noticeable results, and structural savings made the product particularly suitable for projects aimed at energy poverty.
Amsterdam: energy savings via the city pass
In Amsterdam, Eco-Groothandel and SpeedComfort worked together with the municipality in 2025 on a scheme surrounding the city pass. Residents with a city pass could request a voucher of €70 and spend it freely in the webshop on energy-saving products.
Within this scheme, SpeedComfort proved to be a widely chosen solution. While some products mainly offer small optimizations, SpeedComfort immediately provides more comfort and a lower energy bill. For households with a smaller budget, that was an important factor.
The combination of affordability, effectiveness, and easy installation made SpeedComfort a logical and valuable choice. Also within this Amsterdam campaign, the product grew into a permanent value within the range of energy-saving measures.

Energy box projects in multiple cities
In addition to The Hague and Amsterdam, SpeedComfort was also deployed within Energy Box projects in cities including Utrecht, Tilburg, Etten-Leur, and Eindhoven. Particularly in Tilburg, Etten-Leur, and Eindhoven, these projects reached a comparable scale to The Hague, with tens of thousands of households.
Within these projects, SpeedComfort was not an optional addition, but a permanent part of the energy-saving measures. Municipalities and implementing parties deliberately chose to structurally include the product in their approach.
Why municipalities choose SpeedComfort
According to Bart de Vries, SpeedComfort stands out on several points. The product is user-friendly, easy to install, and there are almost no returns. Municipalities and implementing parties therefore consistently provide positive feedback.
At least as important is that SpeedComfort combines comfort with measurable energy savings, exactly what energy poverty projects revolve around. It not only lowers the energy bill but also ensures a more even and pleasant heating of the space. Residents therefore immediately notice the effect.
Outside of municipal campaigns, Eco-Groothandel also sees growing demand from consumers. Independent of energy coaches or voucher schemes, more and more households are choosing SpeedComfort themselves. It is seen as a smart investment that pays for itself and contributes to a more sustainable household.
More than distribution: working together on impact
The collaboration between SpeedComfort and Eco-Groothandel goes beyond just distribution. Both parties actively think along about the design of campaigns, the deployment of Mono and Duo sets, and the logistical execution. Even with large volumes, deliveries are reliable and flexible. “We are extremely happy with the collaboration and the results,” says Bart de Vries. “The reliability we see in the product, we also experience in the collaboration.”
Contribution to the energy transition
What makes this collaboration special is the scale and the structural role within municipal energy projects. SpeedComfort is not just a product on the shelf, but a proven solution within the approach to energy poverty throughout the Netherlands.
Through the combination of practical applicability, more comfort, and demonstrable energy savings, SpeedComfort concretely contributes to making sustainability accessible to everyone. Thus, SpeedComfort plays an important role in the energy transition.
